Portfolio

Sitejet Builder

Project Objective

At the time of creation, our company objective was to increase the amount of sites published from our new website building tool. This video was designed to help quickly get our customers familiar with the tool.

audience

Our hosting customers' end users brand new to the tool.

methodology

I first developed a practical exercise to train our technical support on the tool. Once I was familiar with the process, I turned the practical tutorial into a guided video.

Tools

Sitejet Builder

Camtasia

Outcome

We did see a noticeable trend in site publishing upon release of the video. It was originally distributed directly to partners before getting released on YouTube.

cPanel elevate

Project Objective
The cPanel software is built on the free Linux operating system. However, the primary OS in use has reached its end of life and is no longer supported. Despite our explanations, the majority of our customers were reluctant to transition to a new operating system.
To assist them in this process, we developed the ELevate tool.
audience

Hosting companies that had not updated to a supported operating system.

methodology
I interviewed our subject matter experts to gain a clear understanding of the problem. Subsequently, we collaborated to clarify the process, after which I set up the necessary tools and produced the video.
Tools

Linux SSH/CLI

Camtasia

Outcome

We saw a twenty percent increase in elevations in the first month of releasing the video.

WebPros leadership accelerator

Project Objective

At WebPros, we recognized a growing need for a unified approach to leadership. With leaders joining us from various brands and backgrounds, each bringing different standards and expectations, it became clear that we needed a shared foundation for what leadership at WebPros should look like. We also heard a consistent theme of questions from team leads seeking guidance, as well as gaps in leadership skills across departments.

The Leadership Accelerator was designed to address these needs head-on. Our goal was to break down global and departmental silos, provide practical tools that leaders can use right away, and align everyone with the core values that drive WebPros forward. This training marks a key step in building a strong, consistent leadership culture that supports both our people and our long-term success.

audience

All company employees with at least one direct report.

methodology
This program consisted of four in-person sessions, each lasting two days, conducted in various locations worldwide, along with an online makeup session. Our experienced leadership accelerator team divided into specialties aligned with the four leadership personas at the company. We traveled globally to facilitate this valuable training. Each session included lectures but placed a strong emphasis on fostering connections between teams that typically do not collaborate. Group discussions were a crucial element of the process.

For each leadership persona, we offered proven methods and tools designed to support both new and experienced managers.
Change LEadership
Although I contributed to all aspects of the program, my expertise was centered on the Change Leadership persona and aligning with our core value of "We Excel in Change."

We explored strategies for presenting change positively, tools for effective change management planning, and the application of the ADKAR method.

Intro to OKR:
Live facilitation

Project Objective
When WebPros decided to adopt Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for goal creation and tracking, I was tasked with implementing the necessary training for the rollout. Our initial step involved conducting live training sessions with company leaders from all departments.
audience
Leaders and influencers from throughout the company who will participate in high-level goal setting for strategic initiatives.
methodology
In the absence of a subject matter expert, I proactively researched the concept by reviewing articles, enrolling in Udemy courses, and studying Measure What Matters to enhance my expertise in OKRs for the company.

The lesson lasted three hours and included live knowledge checks through Zoom polls, hands-on individual exercises with provided templates, and culminated in simulated group planning sessions.
Tools
  • Zoom
    • Breakout rooms
    • Built in polling
  • Miro
  • Confluence
Outcome
OKRs were successfully implemented in the company, fostering transparency and focus that were previously lacking. There was no established framework for goal-setting or sharing strategic initiatives prior to this implementation.

OKR: Company Wide Self-Guided

Project Objective

When WebPros decided to adopt Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for goal creation and tracking, I was tasked with implementing the necessary training for the rollout. After our live online lectures were completed with leadership, I developed and released a global course for internal use only.

audience

All company employees.

methodology
After launching the live course, I developed a self-guided course that featured videos, SCORM files, and practical hands-on activities graded asynchronously by the L&D team.

Since I have a humorous side, I decided to incorporate a whimsical theme for the lessons to enhance user engagement. Each video included quirky transitions, and I received a lot of positive feedback from students, who expressed excitement for the next session to see what creative ideas I would introduce.
Tools
  • Keynote
  • Articulate Rise
  • Dall-E
  • Camtasia
  • Green screen
Outcome
The course garnered highly positive feedback from end-of-lesson surveys. OKRs were integrated into employee goal setting for year-end reviews.
This is a short sample of a self-guided lesson. Make sure to keep scrolling past the video!

Improvisor

Improvisational comedian

Improvisational comedy, the art of performing in front of an audience without any preparation, has been my passion for over 16 years. With more than 400 live performances for audiences ranging from 5 to 500 people, I continue to derive joy from bringing laughter to those around me, particularly through my work with ComedySportz Houston.

Improv has instilled numerous skills and traits in me, including public speaking, teamwork, communication, and adaptability, to name a few.

In addition to performing improv, I also teach high school programs, lead adult classes, and conduct corporate training workshops. My previous clients include the C-suite executives of Shell Corporation in the Houston area and the leadership team at Goodwill Houston.

I strive to embody the improv principle of "Yes, And" in every aspect of my life, particularly when working towards achieving team goals in the workplace.
